Schedule a 15 meeting with your boss. Bring the Fall Seminar flyers with you. Explain to your boss that you belong to an administrative professional organization called IAAP and you are a member of the Two Rivers Chapter. Explain that the Two Rivers Chapter provides educational programs to its members for the purpose of continuous improvement and professional development. Explain that our annual Fall Seminar is approaching. Show the flyers and explain that you would like to attend and that you want to know if he/she will approve you to attend and that the company will pay the fees. Let your boss know that it is standard practice for members of the chapter to submit these programs to their companies for payment; either via credit card or reimbursement. It's worth a try.
